Sub Pop to Open Record Store in Seattle Airport
Sub Pop to Open Record Store in Seattle Airport
With a shift toward digital consumption, it’s not common that
we hear of many unique, new record stores opening for business. But with
vinyl making a comeback in popularity and increased sales in recent
years, hopefully we will see more in the same vein as Sub Pop’s most
recent effort. The Seattle-based record label is taking steps to open a
store at the Tacoma-Seattle International Airport, which will be open
year-round for all your travel music needs. We’d expect the store will
stock merchandise from the label’s historic lineup and house other Sub
Pop goodies.
The store is set to open in April 2014 and the label is already looking for a manager who has “knowledge of the Sub Pop catalog, Pacific Northwest music, the Seattle music community, and the city of Seattle.”
