LCD Soundsystem to Release Final Live Show as Five-LP Box Set

After LCD Soundsystem’s final run of shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden, which was documented in the concert film Shut Up and Play the Hits, the band is finally gearing up to put a cap on its final 2011 concert with a massive, five-LP box set titled The Long Goodbye. The set will feature the full, uncut recording of the band’s final Madison Square Garden concert, which ran at nearly four hours long.
The concert was produced and mixed by frontman James Murphy. The box is set for a Record Store Day release on April 19 and a wide retail release on May 20. There’s no details on the current price—but with five LPs, you might want to start stashing some cash aside for the April release.
